What are BigFuture Scholarships? 

Applying to college is a complicated process, so our partners at College Board offer tools and resources on BigFuture to guide you step by step. 

Open to all students in the class of 2023 in the U.S. and U.S. territories, BigFuture Scholarships reward students for taking steps to get ready for life after high school. Students who complete any of six prioritized steps on BigFuture, beginning with building a college list, will be eligible for $500 and $40,000 scholarships. The more steps that students take and the earlier they start, the more chances they have to earn money for college. Learn more about how to qualify at bigfuturescholarships.org

How do I link my College Board and Khan Academy accounts?

If you haven't used Official SAT Practice yet, sign up for your free account. During the sign-up process, select Sign in to CollegeBoard.org and send my test results to Khan Academy. Follow the steps from there to link accounts.

If you already have an Official SAT Practice account, 
log in
 and click Sign in to CollegeBoard.org from your dashboard. Then follow the prompts to complete the linking process.

How can I verify that I qualified for a scholarship by practicing for the SAT?

You will get a verification email from the College Board once you’ve qualified for a scholarship entry by practicing for the SAT.  You will also be able to log into your account on BigFuture and see which scholarships you’ve earned entries for. It may take up to 7 days.

Who is eligible for BigFuture Scholarships?

BigFuture Scholarships are open to all Class of 2023 students with a College Board account who attend high school in the United States, Puerto Rico, and other U.S. territories, regardless of citizenship status. U.S. citizens or residents who attend Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) schools abroad may also participate.

Juniors can begin participating in December of their junior year. Scholarship drawings are held through the end of February of their senior year.
 

College Board wants as many students as possible to earn scholarships from BigFuture. Therefore, students who are legally ineligible to complete the FAFSA, such as undocumented or DACA students, will still be able to qualify for all $500 and $40,000 awards.

How can I participate?

Class of 2023 students automatically earn entries for monthly drawings for $500 or $40,000 by logging into their College Board accounts and completing the Practice for the SAT step on Khan Academy and other steps on BigFuture. No additional action is required. Students can opt out of the scholarship drawings here. If you don’t have a College Board account, you can create one for free here to qualify for scholarship drawings by completing steps.

You must link your Khan Academy account to your College Board account for your practice activity to count toward an entry for scholarship drawings. Any practice activity that you complete before linking your accounts will not count toward an entry for scholarship drawings.
